«TheTwelveDaysof Christmas» («Los
doce días de Navidad») es un carol o
canción de Navidad en inglés antiguo
y muy popular en los países anglófonos. Es una canción acumulativa en
la que se enumeran doce regalos que una persona dice haber recibido de su
enamorado/a durante los doce días consecutivos de Navidad (entre las
festividades de Navidad y
la epifanía),
El texto
es una canción infantil publicada por primera vez en el libro Mirth without
Mischief (Alegrías inocentes = Alegría
sin malicia) en Londres en 1780. Era
recitado por algunos jugadores en un círculo durante un juego de memoria en el
que los jugadores se turnaban para recitar cada verso de la canción infantil
consecutivamente, quedando eliminado quien no conseguía completar la lista en
el orden correcto. Años más tarde, el juego y la rima fueron propuestos por
Lady Gomme, coleccionista de canciones populares, como "una diversión
agradable para toda la familia en la cena anterior a la duodécima noche de
navidad".

Fue uno de los primeros artistas multimedia. Alcanzó los primeros puestos en cifras de venta de discos, índices de audiencia en radio y en beneficios brutos de películas, desde 1930 hasta 1954. Answer.- When you add
"-ness" to an adjective, it becomes a noun.
The suffix
"-ness" means "state : condition : quality" and is used
with an adjective to say something about the state, condition, or quality of
being that adjective.
For example,
redness is a red quality, and redness means
"the quality of being red."
The redness in his eyes went
away after he got some sleep.
bitterness is a bitter condition, or "the condition of
being bitter."
The breakup caused them to feel anger and bitterness.
sleepiness means "the condition of being sleepy."

ØTypically, if an adjective is in its -er or -est form, "-ness"
cannot be added: higher and highest cannot
become higherness or highestness.
ØTypically, if an adjective is actually a participle of a verb,
"-ness" cannot be added: washed and running
cannot become washedness or runningness.
ØMost other adjectives, however can be made into nouns by adding
"ness."

ending in 'ness' literally means the state of the original adjective.
